Gilberto about to sign new Arsenal deal

World Cup winner Gilberto Silva is on the brink of signing a new contract with the Gunners.
The Brazilian midfielder, whose current deal runs out at the end of the season, had caused alarm this summer with his failure to put pen to paper.
And there were fears he would start looking for a new club in the new year.
But Gilberto last night gave a huge boost to Gunners fans.
He said: “I am very close to signing. I want to sign it as soon as possible because I am very happy here.â€
